So many things have happened. And I really need blog about this, 'cause it's so significant. Just this year, within a couple of months, and probably within days of one another, a lot things have happened.
Not in any order:
1) Nis is officially a mahasiswi of NTU, top 25 unis in the world!
2) Syash has a fricking driving licence!
3) Shariffah is training to be a teacher at NIE!
4) Hannah is taking her As!
5) Mel's gonna get her degree!
6) my friend, Bal, 19 years old too, has GOT MARRIED! (I kid you not!)
So, my point is, my God, my gosh. We are growing up and fast entering the world and realm we barely know and is familiar with. Everybody has moved on and developing in their own areas, my friends are now mahasiswi, holds a licence (who knew that one day we could stand to do all this?), getting married; some things are just so alien.
And yet, it is part of us now.
Who knew that the girl who sat beside you once in Chemistry and whom you have bugged for answers to cat-fricking-ions and anions, is now an NTU student?
Who knew that that chub-cheeked girl from Girl Guides, is now taking her A Levels and battling hardcore geography and sastera (and Bedok Reservoir marathon runs)?
Who knew that that once quiet girl (note the once. HAHA) is now pursuing an arts degree at a renowned arts school in Singapore?
Who knew that that 'cute' girl who is afraid of cats, but passionate about her friends, would someday hold a valid driving licence and yes, madly worrying and crushing on her As?
Who knew that frizzy-haired and chirpy girl who shared lockers and life with you once, is now training to be a nurturer of young minds?
Who knew that that childhood friend, shy artist has just gotten married at such a tender age of 19?
The point is, who knew?
So you see, it is really unexpected, and it's frightening to see all of us so different in our right, so developed and so maturing at our own desired paths. Yet, we see so much in similarity, so much familiarity in the varied faces and so much in history that has been shared. It's nerve-wrecking, it's so familiar, it's so different, it's so shocking, it's so full of pride, it's so walking down history.
And for these, I thank God for giving me such varied personalities in my life for me to appreciate and wonder at His works; all of which beautiful in their own right.
This has just been three years since we fully parted.
I can't wait to see us all in 10 years. What do we then have in common, what do we share, what have we grown into, what have differed amongst us, what. What shall we see in future? :)
